Harvard Professor Steven Pinker shared his thoughts on the significance behind the president’s favorite phrases, “Make America Great Again” and “Fake News.” Pinker says that “Make America Great Again” is a slogan which looks backwards and not towards continuing progress. Pinker remarks that the idea of a “Golden Age” in America comes down to “bad memory.” Pinker also notes that it is a “terrible pollution of the language” for the president to call an article which criticizes him “fake news.
